To participate in the Fringe is really easy
You too can be part of the 2009 London Fringe. Anyone can perform. If you have an event, gig, exhibition, workshop, tour, open day, production or performance you can take advantage of marketing it through the Fringe.
You will need to register to get you and your event listed on this site. Once registered you will have access to your profile. Registering will give you access to information about venues and media contacts, too. Here's an example profile. Here's an example form you use to fill in your profile. And here's an event form where you list your events for the Fringe.
If you want to volunteer to help run the events we would like to hear from you.
More Information
The Fringe does not book acts or shows and pays no fees to participants. We do, however, help you every step of the way.
By registering you will receive regular email newsletters with information about opportunities for performing, venue details, upcoming dates and deadlines, and more.
The main goals of the Fringe are to get you participating successfully now and to expand the event in future years. We're here to help. In order to take part you need to:
- Register
- Find a venue or site
- Make contact with your venue manager
- Get your show into the Fringe Programme
- Sort out your marketing and press campaign
FIND A VENUE
If you need a venue or site check the list of venues and sites. There are a wide variety of venue sizes and types all managed by different people and facilities can vary quite a bit. You need to contact the venue manager directly to find out exactly what is on offer. If you are a street performer looking for a site, please make sure you visit it and decide whether it's suitable.
MAKE CONTACT WITH YOUR VENUE MANAGER
It's a good idea to make contact with the venues managers early. Quite a lot of the venues will not require a deposit for performing your show there. And you should be able to negotiate a favourable arrangement to both you and the venue.
GET YOUR SHOW INTO THE FRINGE PROGRAMME
Once you have secured a venue you need ensure your profile online entry is completed fully. Your information here will be included in the programme. There will be an advertising fee for it to be included in the printed programme. Details here.
MARKETING AND PRESS
Getting your print and press release right will go a long way to helping your show receive substantial press coverage and attract bigger audiences. Some performers may hire PRs to publicise their show in the run up to and during the Fringe but most can still successfully publicise their show themselves.
