Let's face it, London is the best place in the world to be a comedian. And a great place to win a Comedy Award.

All comedians are welcome, whether you work/live in London or not. We've got 3 nights of competitions booked into the Skinkers pub near London Bridge station. The venue is a 50-seater with standing room at the back.

And it's right next to the London Dungeon, who could probably do with a laugh or two.

Paul Ricketts will be the MC. There'll be a prize of £100 to the winner and a professional gig at Up the Arts Comedy. But, I think it's more about the prestige of winning an award in London.

We'll be judging each night, and will announce a winner for each group of comedians at the end of each night, and the overall winner on the last night.

There is no final competition, so competitors have only one shot at it. This is because, in keeping with the spirit of the Festival, we want as many people as possible to enter.

There won't be a charge at the door, but we will ask for donations from the audience, a la the Free Fringe. The money we collect will go towards buying the comics a drink at the bar.
